What fun places are there to visit in Yichun?
The further north you travel within Yichun, the deeper you venture into the hinterland of the Lesser Khingan Range. Well-known scenic spots include Maolan Valley, a deep canyon formed by folds and fractures from crustal movements; Tangwanghe, China’s sole national park famous for rare granite stone forest landforms and intact primitive ecosystems; Wuying National Forest Park, celebrated for its peculiar mountain rocks and ideal for negative-ion forest bathing; Fenglin River, the top destination for primitive forest drifting; Jiayin Dinosaur National Geopark, and Xing’an National Forest Park, among others.
Xing’an National Forest Park (Yichun)
Nestled within the Nanshan Scenic Forest Nature Reserve in Yichun District, Yichun City, the park’s forests mainly cover the South and North Mountains, forming a vital natural backdrop for downtown Yichun. Its dominant vegetation is mixed coniferous and broad-leaved forest dominated by Korean pines, boasting abundant flora and fauna resources: 40 rare tree species such as Korean pine, spruce, fir, Amur cork tree and Manchurian ash, plus over 20 types of wild animals.
Composed of more than a dozen scattered scenic zones integrated into one comprehensive leisure resort, it is an ecological forest park centered on woodland scenery that combines sightseeing, entertainment and forest bathing. The main peak of Xing’an Tower stands at an altitude of 653 meters, with the tower itself reaching 47 meters tall, serving as the park’s landmark structure.

Hongxing Volcanic Geopark
Located within Hongxing Wetland National Nature Reserve, the park covers 1,685 square kilometers with eight planned scenic zones. It features three spectacular natural wonders: volcanic landforms, seas of azalea blossoms, and Kurbin rime. Boasting distinctive ancient volcanic landforms and rich biodiversity, it lies 160 kilometers from central Yichun and 88 kilometers from Hongxing District. Its unique volcanic geological landscapes rank as world-class marvels, representing another remarkable volcanic discovery after the Wudalianchi Volcanic Scenic Area.

Wuying National Forest Park
Situated in Fenglin Nature Reserve more than 60 kilometers from downtown Yichun, it shelters the best-preserved virgin Korean pine forest among all forested areas in Yichun, jointly operating Wuying National Forest Park and Fenglin National Korean Pine Nature Reserve. It has the world’s largest population of Korean pines and hosts Asia’s largest, most intact and representative virgin Korean pine forest.

- Transportation: Take a direct train from Harbin to Wuying, then transfer to a minibus for a 30-minute ride uphill to the park (transfer shuttle service provided by the forest park).
Maolan Valley Geopark
Hidden deep in the Lesser Khingan forest 67 kilometers west of Jiayin County, the valley sits at an altitude of over 400 meters. Average mountain height is nearly 80 meters, the tallest peak reaches 200 meters, and valley depths exceed 100 meters. Upon entering the scenic area, visitors are greeted by rolling mountain ridges, rushing clear green water, silhouettes of pine trees and graceful white birches interwoven together, creating breathtaking scenery.
The site encompasses more than 30 attractions including Maolan Waterfall, Black Dragon Pool, Fairy Pond, Crown Prince Peak, Bear Head Peak, Three-Tier Pond, Wild Pigeon Peak, Stone Man, Stone Old Woman, Pool Suppressing Stone and Danfeng Spring. Combining fantastic peaks, lush woods, clear water, secluded pools and elegant waterfalls, Maolan Valley is hailed as Heilongjiang’s "Jiuzhaigou".

Shangganling Xishui National Forest Park
Merely 28 kilometers from Yichun, the park stretches 6.5 kilometers from east to west and 4.5 kilometers from north to south, covering a total area of 1,684 hectares. Blending rustic countryside charm with exotic European style in an idyllic paradise-like setting, it boasts distinctive natural landscapes and unique cultural attractions that delight visitors and make them reluctant to leave. Geographically split into two triangular zones, it is an ideal destination for leisure, vacation, travel and sightseeing, as well as a standout highlight along Yichun’s ecological tourism green corridor.

- Scenic Shuttle Bus: Operates between the virgin forest exit and the parking lot, ¥10 per person with no discounts. The one-way route is approximately 4.5 kilometers with no stops en route. Visitors holding tickets inclusive of shuttle service must retain their tickets for boarding; lost tickets will not be reissued.

A) Buses depart from Yichun Long-Distance Bus Station for Shangganling at 10:30, 15:00 and 15:40. Ticket price ¥5, travel time 1 hour.
B) The park is 24 kilometers from Yichun City. The Yichun–Jiayin high-grade highway passes through its northwest, and the Tanglin Railway (Harbin–Wuyiling Line) runs through the district, with passenger trains stopping at Shangganling Railway Station.
