1. Misty Fragrant Tea
Introduction:
Misty Fragrant Tea from Jiuhua Mountain enjoys a great reputation, with the tea grown in Min Garden and Tiantai Peak boasting the finest quality. Among its varieties, Huangshixi Maofeng won a gold medal at the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition. It grows in valleys on the eastern side of Tiantai Peak, the summit of Jiuhua Mountain over 1,300 meters above sea level. The finished tea features tight, slender and uniform strips, emerald green color with visible white fine hairs. Its brewed liquor is clear green and transparent, with tender and bright tea leaves at the bottom. When steeped, mist hovers over the cup surface, and the tea delivers a rich, mellow aroma that withstands repeated infusions.
In recent years, three varieties have been awarded Ministry-level and Provincial Excellent Product honors: Jiuhua Maofeng, Ksitigarbha Sparrow Tongue and East Cliff Sparrow Tongue. These premium teas are mainly produced in Min Garden. They feature tender buds tightly wrapped with young leaves, similar to Huangshixi Maofeng. Their liquor is yellowish-green and clear, and the tea leaves unfurl like stretching orchid blossoms in the cup, presenting a unique charm. Drinking famous Jiuhua teas not only quenches thirst but also calms the mind and refreshes the spirit.
