Fun Places to Visit in Chizhou
Chizhou boasts abundant tourist resources and a picturesque environment. The city’s forest coverage rate exceeds 60%, and the concentration of negative oxygen ions in the air is 35 times the national standard. Guniujiang (ticket required) is a national nature reserve for wild animals and plants, known as the "East China Animal and Plant Gene Bank". Shengjin Lake, an important wetland nature reserve in Asia, is hailed as "China’s Crane Lake". At present, Chizhou has one 5A-level scenic area, six 4A-level scenic areas including Xinghua Village and Dawang Cave (ticket required), and multiple 3A-level scenic areas such as Dali Mountain and Penglai Cave Group. It is truly a city of mountains, rivers and a natural ecological park.
Jiuhua Mountain (Ticket Required)
Located in Chizhou City, Anhui Province, Jiuhua Mountain is a national mountain scenic area featuring Buddhist culture as well as natural and cultural landscapes. It ranks among China’s Four Great Buddhist Mountains, one of the first batch of national 5A-level tourist attractions, and one of China’s first dual natural and cultural heritage sites. It serves as the core scenic zone under Anhui’s "Two Mountains and One Lake" tourism development strategy (Jiuhua Mountain, Taiping Lake (ticket required), Huangshan Mountain (ticket required)).
Transportation
Take a coach bound for Jiuhua Mountain opposite Chizhou Railway Station. The fare is 6 RMB and the ride takes 1 hour.

Guniujiang
Guniujiang lies within Shitai County and is a national nature reserve, an ancient pristine land preserved since prehistoric times. It is a rare mountain tourist destination. Lush green mountains interweave with clear waters, with mist and clouds shifting endlessly. Steep cliffs carry gentle charm, exquisite scenery radiates tranquility, and magical landscapes exude elegance, making it an ideal sightseeing resort. Standing atop the summit and looking around, Qiyun Mountain’s scenic wonders are close at hand; Huangshan and Jiuhua Mountains loom in the distance. The Yangtze River winds like a white silk ribbon among thousands of green peaks, unfolding a magnificent long scroll of Chinese landscape painting that stirs boundless imagination in every hiker.

Transportation
Take a direct bus to Shitai County from Hefei, Anqing, Chizhou, Qimen or other cities. Then board the special tourist shuttle bus to Guniujiang from the fleet station opposite Shitai Bus Station.
Chizhou Xinghua Village
A national 4A-level scenic area, Xinghua Village is situated in the western suburbs of Chizhou, with a history stretching back 1,300 years. Du Mu, a renowned poet of the Tang Dynasty, wrote the famous poem Qingming while serving as the Prefect of Chizhou, bringing the village worldwide fame. A local scholar Lang Sui compiled Records of Xinghua Village, which was included in China’s Complete Library of the Four Treasuries. The village is praised as "the No.1 Poetic Village Under Heaven". It is covered in luxuriant trees and blooming apricot blossoms, dotted with small bridges, flowing streams and fluttering wine shop banners. Attractions such as Huai Du Studio, Green Lotus Pavilion, Zhaoming Hall, Poem Reciting Platform, Half-Mu Garden, Apricot Blossom Island and Six Dynasties Corridor all embody poetic charm and pastoral grace.

Qiupu Wonderland – Dawang Cave
Dawang Cave is located in Dashan and Chuanshan villages of Pailou Town, southwest of downtown Chizhou. This giant cave is shaped like the Chinese character "丁", consisting of three caverns: Upper Heavenly Pool, Lower Heavenly Pool and Dawang Cave. Its main passage stretches 2,200 meters with a total area of over 100,000 square meters. Boasting grand scale and natural fantastic rock formations, it earns the title "King of Caves". As one of Anhui’s first provincial scenic areas, it is a marvelous gem of Qiupu Wonderland. The Dawang Cave Scenic Area comprises four sections: Heavenly Bridge Wonder, Immortal Valley, Dawang Cave Palace and Dawang Lake.
