1. Huangling Green Chinese Onions
Green Chinese onions are abundantly grown around Huangling in Linquan County, also known as frost-resistant green onions. They feature dark green foliage and thick fleshy stalks with long, tender white stems wrapped in a thin pale purple outer skin. The crop withstands severe cold and frost; the colder the weather, the plumper the onions grow, and they can be stored for a long time without rotting.
Regular consumption helps build a robust physique and prolong life. When used as a seasoning, they release an inviting rich aroma that boosts appetite, aids digestion, harmonizes the spleen and stomach, and refreshes the mind.
2. Liansi Radish
Nicknamed "Duck Egg Crisp". Oval-shaped with emerald green skin, the radish has crisp, sweet flesh that tastes like pear, free of tough fibrous residues and rich in nutrients. Its skin will crack open automatically when soaked in water, and it splits into several pieces if dropped on the ground.
Liansi Radish originates from West Lake Town (formerly Datianji), thirty li west of downtown Fuyang.
3. Tong Garlic
Produced mainly around Huoxing Street in Tongcheng Town, Linquan County, Tong Garlic is famous nationwide and sold across multiple provinces. It delivers a balanced fresh, spicy and fragrant taste, and has been a royal tribute dating back to the Emperor Ming of the Eastern Han Dynasty.
Also called Nine-Leaf Cloud Fragrant Herb for its nine leaves, each garlic bulb is oblate and mostly divided into four dog-tooth-shaped cloves covered in purplish-red skin. High in nutritional value, it serves as an excellent condiment. Its juice carries a mellow sharp spiciness without turning stale, retaining a bright fresh flavor.
