Climate & Weather of Langya Mountain
The Huaihe River coastal area features a transitional climate from the northern subtropical zone to the warm temperate zone, while most other regions enjoy a humid northern subtropical climate.
Basic Climatic Characteristics
The area has four distinct seasons with obvious monsoon patterns, abundant sunshine, synchronized rainfall and high temperatures, and moderate annual precipitation. It experiences prominent plum rain seasons, cold winters and hot summers, as well as mild spring and autumn. Spring temperatures fluctuate frequently, and autumn is clear, crisp and pleasant.
Due to frequent clashes between cold and warm air masses, hazardous weather conditions occur alternately, including low temperatures, strong winds, heavy downpours, hailstorms, droughts and frosts.
The annual average temperature stands at approximately 15°C. January is the coldest month with an average temperature of 1–2°C, while July is the hottest month, with average temperatures ranging from 27.4°C to 27.9°C.
The multi-year average annual precipitation is around 1,000 millimeters. The average annual sunshine duration ranges from 2,079 to 2,269 hours, and the average frost period lasts 144 to 157 days.
