Known as Suanshan Ferry during the Three Kingdoms period and Jinling Ferry in the Tang Dynasty, it was officially named Xijin Ferry after the Song Dynasty. Nestled at the foot of Yuntai Hill in western Zhenjiang, this ancient ferry once welcomed numerous literati who left behind poems and calligraphy here over thousands of years.
First built in the Six Dynasties, it underwent continuous development through the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties and once thrived as a bustling commercial hub. The ancient street stretches about 1,000 meters. Wandering along it, you can spot historic relics from successive dynasties, living up to the saying: "Traverse the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties all the way to the present day."
Today, the scenic area strives to restore its former prosperity, with inns, clubs and restaurants available. Visitors can gather with friends, relax, admire views and taste local delicacies here.
