Where is Meizhou Island?
Meizhou Island lies 42 kilometers southeast of downtown Putian, Fujian Province. It is merely 1.82 nautical miles away from the mainland. As the second largest island in Putian, it covers a land area of 14.35 square kilometers, together with more than 30 surrounding islets and reefs. The island is 72 nautical miles from Taichung Port of Taiwan Province.
Stretching 9.6 kilometers from north to south and 1.3 kilometers from east to west, it features a plain in the center, with a coastline of 30.4 kilometers.
