1. Jiulong Valley National Forest Park — the Back Garden of Putian
The forest coverage rate here exceeds 95%, boasting abundant forest resources.
There are 532 plant species belonging to 160 families in the park. Rare flora includes the first-class national protected plant Taxus chinensis var. mairei, second-class protected plants such as Fokienia hodginsii and Cibotium barometz, as well as Keteleeria fortunei, a provincially protected tree unique to Fujian. Large communities of southern keteleeria trees form distinctive vegetation landscapes.
Rolling peaks are covered by dense, towering trees that block out the sunlight, with ancient vines twisting and interweaving everywhere. This is exactly what visitors will see and feel upon entering the park.

Hiking
Jiulong Valley National Forest Park covers 15,264.9 hectares and borders Jiuli Lake Provincial Scenic Area.
If you keep climbing along the mountain trail, you can reach Jiuli Lake after 2 to 3 hours. Visitors with limited stamina can stop at Jiulong Valley Waterfall instead.

Waterfall Viewing
Jiulong Valley contains the lower five waterfalls of the nine-tiered cascades of Jiuli Lake, commonly known as "Lower Jiuli".

Wildlife Watching
The park teems with wildlife: 116 bird species from 34 families and 15 orders, 34 mammal species, 23 amphibian species and 43 reptile species. The woods are filled with beautiful birdsong.
Nine sika deer, a first-class national protected animal, are raised in captivity here.
