Must-Visit Scenic Spots in Beihai
Beihai Silver Beach
Located in Yinhai District, Beihai City, Guangxi, the beach stretches about 24 kilometers from east to west, with a width ranging from 30 meters to 3,000 meters. It covers a land area of 12 square kilometers and a total area of around 38 square kilometers.
Renowned as No.1 Beach in China, it features a long and flat shoreline, fine white sand, clear warm water, gentle waves and shark-free waters. Its major attractions include Silver Beach Park, Lover's Island Park and Beach Park.
Weizhou Island
Situated in the middle of the Beibu Gulf off Beihai, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the island has a total area of 24.74 square kilometers and its highest point stands 79 meters above sea level. Known as "Penglai Isle", it is China's youngest volcanic island and the largest offshore island in Guangxi. Key scenic areas on the island are Crocodile Hill, Dishuidanping, Shiluokou, the Catholic Church and Colorful Beach.
Star Island Lake
It is formed by Hongchao River Reservoir, 24 kilometers northwest of Hepu County, Beihai. Over 1,026 islets of varying sizes scatter across the 600-square-kilometer blue waters, hence the name Star Island Lake. The lake enjoys a pleasant climate, with a vast water surface surrounded by green hills.
Shankou Mangrove Ecological Nature Reserve
The reserve lies on the east and west sides of Shatian Peninsula in the southeast of Hepu County, Guangxi. Encompassing sea areas, land and all tidal flats on both sides of the peninsula, it covers 8,000 hectares. Under a humid south subtropical climate, it is a national nature reserve dedicated to the protection of mangrove ecosystems.
Beihai Ocean Window
Located in Beihai, Guangxi, the scenic area occupies 2.1 hectares with a floor area of 18,100 square meters. It consists of sixteen themed exhibition zones: Mysterious Ocean, Primordial Ocean, Time Tunnel, Coral Sea, Cape of the Sea, Dreamlike Ocean, Marine Resources Hall, Maritime Silk Road, Zheng He's Voyages to the Western Seas, Age of Discovery, Ocean Theater, Coastal Landscape, Jellyfish Palace, Shell Culture, South Pearl Culture and 4D Dynamic Cinema.
