How to Have the Best Time on Hailing Island, Yangjiang?
Hailing Island (ticket required) is located in Yangjiang City, Guangdong Province. Hailed as the "Beidaihe of the South" (ticket required) and the "Oriental Hawaii", it is praised as an unpolished jade gem. From 2005 to 2007, Hailing Island was consecutively named one of China’s Top Ten Most Beautiful Islands by Chinese National Geography magazine for three years running.
Surrounded by the sea on all sides, the island is famous nationwide and internationally for its crystal-clear waters, pristine fine sand, as well as its signature coastal experiences: swimming in the sea, staying by the shore, feasting on fresh seafood and buying dried marine delicacies.
The island enjoys long annual sunshine hours, with an average annual temperature of 22.8°C and around 310 sunny days every year. It features four distinct mild seasons, making it an ideal destination for vacations. Seafood on Hailing Island is both high-quality and affordable.
Transportation
Hailing Island boasts a well-connected transport network. Direct tourist coaches run from Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai and other cities to Yangjiang or Zhapo. Express shuttle buses operate non-stop between Yangjiang Coach Station and Zhapo. Within the scenic zone, medium-sized buses, electric sightseeing carts and rickshaws shuttle around for easy travel.
Bus Schedules from Zhapo to Other Destinations
- Zhapo ↔ Yangjiang (48 km):
Departures from 06:15 to 21:30 daily, every 15 minutes. Buses leave from both Yangjiang Main Bus Station and Yangjiang Second Transport Station.
- Zhapo → Guangzhou: Two daily departures at 09:10 and 14:30
- Zhapo → Zhuhai: Three daily departures at 08:40, 14:30 and 16:10
Note: A city-wide online ticketing system is in operation. Visitors may purchase through tickets departing from Yangjiang to all destinations directly at the station of the Hailing Island Experimental Zone.
