There are hundreds of species, including grouper, lobster, mud crab, swimming crab, turban snail, crown conch, green mussel, goose barnacle, white clam, thorn conch, horn conch, rock clam, soft-shelled turtle, laver and more. A trip to Shangchuan Island is incomplete without sampling its local seafood.
Seafood streets can be found near the beaches of both Shangchuan and Xiachuan Islands, serving authentic local dishes. Visitors may also buy freshly caught seafood from floating fish rafts along the shore and have them cooked on-site at affordable prices.
