Three-Day Foshan Tour
Day 1: Qinghui Garden → Foshan Ancestral Temple
Qinghui Garden is located in Shunde and ranks among the Four Great Classical Gardens of Guangdong from the Qing Dynasty. First built in the 5th year of the Jiaqing reign of the Qing Dynasty, it features a winding layout covering the Bishenghua Pavilion, inner courtyards, library tower, boat hall, Xiyin Study and Green Stream Cottage, extending all the way to the waterside pavilion. Decorated with paintings, calligraphy, carvings and fine handicrafts, every layer of scenery exudes quiet, subtle elegance.
The exquisite buildings are set off by ponds and rockeries, dotted with flowers, fruit trees and plants such as blue jasmine, yulan magnolia, kapok, ginkgo, wisteria, aglaia odorata, longan and grape vines, adding gorgeous, varied hues to the garden.
The main hall of Foshan Ancestral Temple houses numerous precious artworks, including ancient official guard ceremonial regalia, large heavy candlesticks and incense burners, plus standing statues of mythical beasts and warrior figures. Upon entering the temple, visitors are instantly amazed by the intricate roof carvings. The elaborate wood carvings, brick carvings and displayed relics all make the trip thoroughly rewarding.
Day 2: Xiqiao Mountain
The towering Guanyin Statue is the first landmark greeting visitors to Xiqiao Mountain. The serene Goddess of Mercy sits atop a lotus throne, standing over 60 meters tall and drawing countless pilgrims to pay their respects.
The mountain is famed for its abundant natural and cultural landscapes, boasting countless unique caves, deep pools and waterfalls of all sizes. Once an ancient volcano, it has now been transformed into a much-loved scenic destination.
Each sub-scenic spot on Xiqiao Mountain showcases the ancient volcano from a distinct perspective: some focus on Buddhist and Taoist culture, some on ancient architectural complexes, others on history and culture, and more on exotic caves. These diverse attractions have earned Xiqiao Mountain nationwide renown.
Day 3: Nanhai Movie and Television City
Upon entering Nanhai Movie and Television City, visitors are first met with a resplendent grand hall modeled after an imperial palace, which is truly spectacular. Beyond the antique imperial buildings, the black-and-white houses of the Jiangnan water town present an elegant, poetic view.
The scenic area boasts stunning scenery beyond its ancient-style architecture, featuring replica streets of Hong Kong and Macau as well. The lake inside the movie city is picturesque, with surrounding buildings mirrored on its surface to form a perfect landscape scroll painting.
