Where Are the Zoos in Dongguan and How Many Zoos Does the City Have?

Dongguan currently has only one zoo: Xiangshi Zoo located in Liaobu Town, with no other zoos in the city.
Xiangshi Zoo sits within the Xiangshi Modern Agricultural Ecological Industrial Park in Liaobu Town. Covering a total land area of 46.1 hectares with a total investment of 350 million yuan, the zoo exhibits 3,000 individual animals across 200 species. Its core facilities include enclosures for terrestrial animals such as tigers, lions, elephants, giraffes and bears. There are also aquatic animal habitats housing dolphins, sea lions, fur seals and many other creatures.

Large Animal Zone

  • Hippopotamus: I may look ugly, yet I have a fiery temper. I excel at swimming and am even better at diving.
  • Giraffe: I am the supermodel of the animal kingdom, boasting an elegant bearing, an elongated neck and a tiny head, cute and graceful all over.
  • Asian Elephant: Gentle, honest and adorably clumsy as I am, I am great at striking cute poses. Come take photos with me!

Beast Zone

  • Siberian Tiger: I am the king of all beasts, with a sturdy, well-proportioned body and an inherently calm temperament.
  • Lion: I hail from the African grasslands and reign as the overlord there, with an extremely ferocious disposition.

Herbivore Zone

  • Alpaca: Can you tell me apart from my cousin the llama? I am the legendary internet mythical creature and also the national treasure of Peru.
