Located in Jiangyang District, 25 km from the city center. It was honored as Han Gao in the Han Dynasty, called Little Zhongnan Mountain in the Tang Dynasty, and praised as Emei's Half or Little Emei in the Qing Dynasty. Standing by the Yangtze River, it is veiled in clouds and mist year-round, earning it the elegant name Yunfeng (Cloud Peak).
Composed of 99 peaks, the mountain appears square from all directions. Though not extremely high, it rises dramatically against the surrounding low hills. Its bedrock is entirely Cretaceous Guankou Formation sandstone, which is bright red, creating a stunning contrast with the green waters.
