Carved jet crafts are the most famous tourist souvenirs in Fushun, which is the birthplace of jet carving. Jet is a special type of coal formed from oak, birch, pine and other trees buried in coal seams. It features pure composition and fine compact texture, making it ideal for carving. Besides jet, ginseng, pilose antler, daylily, bracken and local tobacco are also renowned local specialties.

Pilose antler refers to the velvet antler of deer. It is the enveloped horn that has developed cartilage yet not fully ossified. A powerful tonic, it can raise blood pressure, refresh the spirit, boost the production of red blood cells and hemoglobin, and stimulate gastrointestinal peristalsis and secretion. Traditional Chinese medicines formulated with pilose antler replenish essence and marrow, nourish blood and yin, strengthen tendons and bones, tonify qi and improve mental vitality, and can treat a wide range of ailments.

As one of the "Three Treasures of Northeast China", ginseng is hailed as the "King of All Herbs". A famous specialty from the mountainous eastern Fushun, it ranks top among Chinese medicinal herbs. Its root is used as medicine to tonify the five internal organs, calm the nerves, relieve palpitations, dispel pathogenic factors, brighten eyes, soothe the mind and enhance intelligence. Long-term consumption can prolong life.

Jet, also called black amber, was named graphite essence or stone soot essence in ancient times and is a signature specialty of Fushun. Local craftsmen carve jet into elegant artworks including birds, beasts, flowers, fish, insects, mythological scenes and desk stationery. Simple yet graceful with a unique charm, these carvings are unparalleled worldwide.

The Red Nanguo Pear was introduced by the Fushun Specialty Research Institute. The fruit is nearly round with a transverse diameter slightly longer than its longitudinal diameter, giving a fruit shape index of 0.90. It is medium-sized, with an average weight of 111.4 grams and a maximum weight of 180 grams. The sun-facing side of the fruit is bright red, covering 65% to 70% of the peel. The smooth peel has a glossy finish, covered with large, dense, nearly circular fruit lenticels.
