Unmissable Experiences in Shennongjia
Watch the sunset by Dajiu Lake and bid farewell to the glowing clouds
Located in the southwest of Shennongjia Forestry District, Dajiu Lake is encircled by lofty mountains. Amid the rugged mountain ranges of Shennongjia, where steep peaks stretch endlessly and flat land is scarce, lies this expansive alpine wetland. Nine streams wind down from the misty ridges like nine jade ribbons, forming nine glistening lakes on the highland plain.
As the sun sets, golden glow filters through the plateau clouds and spills over the distant mountains onto the crystal-clear lake surface. This breathtaking natural scenery is unique to Dajiu Lake.
Cycle around Greater Shennongjia and ride with the wind
Shennongjia features rolling mountains and picturesque landscapes. The cycling route runs through Songbai, Hongping and Muyu, crosses Shennongding Peak and finally reaches Dajiu Lake.

Hike up Shennongding Peak and search for traces of the Wild Man
The legend of the Shennongjia Wild Man has a long history, with multiple records in ancient books. Since the last century, numerous people have claimed to have spotted this mysterious human-like creature. Chinese scientists have conducted multiple surveys in Shennongding Scenic Area and collected indirect evidence such as hair and feces. Nevertheless, no conclusive proof has been found to confirm the existence of the Wild Man to this day.
While hiking Shennongding, you will be captivated by layered mountains, crisscrossing valleys, gurgling springs and singing birds. The strange footprints along the paths and crude grass huts on cliff sides will further arouse your curiosity to uncover the mystery of the Wild Man.
