Over two days, you will visit Enshi Tusi City, Tenglong Cave and Enshi Grand Canyon. While enjoying stunning natural scenery, you can also experience the unique architecture and local customs of ethnic minorities.
Day 1: Enshi Tusi City & Tenglong Cave
After breakfast, tour Enshi Tusi City, a national AAAA-level scenic area known as the No.1 Tusi City in China. This ancient-style manor complex fully showcases the architecture, carving and painting arts of three major ethnic groups in Enshi: the Tujia, Miao and Dong. It is 1.5 kilometers from downtown Enshi, a 10-minute drive, and the sightseeing lasts 1.5 hours.
After lunch, head for Lichuan, hometown of the folk song Dragon Boat Tune, to visit Tenglong Cave, Asia’s largest cave. It is 106 kilometers away, around a 1-hour drive, with a 3.5-hour sightseeing tour. Famous at home and abroad for its grandeur, perilous cliffs, marvelous views, serene ambiance and stunning landscapes, the cave consists of a water cave and a dry cave.
The scenic area has invested 20 million yuan to build China’s exclusive laser show inside the cave. Integrating sound, light, electricity, water and mist, it brings an immersive high-tech experience. Paired with dreamlike water curtain videos and vivid live performances, the interwoven laser effects deliver a stunning visual impact. You will also watch the grand musical dance drama Beautiful Yishui River Valley, themed on Tujia culture, and appreciate the charm of ancient folk songs and dances.
Day 2: Enshi Grand Canyon
After breakfast, travel to Enshi Grand Canyon, one of China’s most beautiful scenic spots and a highlight of Hubei tourism. Located 68 kilometers from the city center, it takes a 2-hour drive, and the sightseeing lasts 4 hours.
The canyon features magnificent landscapes including one grand gorge, two rivers, four natural wonders and five distinctive views. It is celebrated for four breathtaking sights: sheer cliffs surrounding peak clusters, waterfalls plunging down rift valleys, underground rivers running alongside sinkholes, and sea of clouds rising over the Qingjiang River, presenting a combination of grandeur, wonder, thrill and elegance.
You will hike through the Qixingzhai area dominated by mountains and waters. Walk along the perilous cliff plank road, admire the miraculous One Incense Stick rock pillar, and explore rustic Tujia villages. After descending the mountain, return to Enshi to conclude your pleasant trip
