Special Local Products of Xingtai

Most special local products of Xingtai are agricultural produce, including chestnuts, apples and walnuts from Xingtai County; walnuts from Lincheng County; Fugang apples from Neiqiu County; Chuanzhihong apricots, wolfberries and honeysuckles from Julu County.

Sanbai Melon of Weixian County

The Sanbai melon is unique to Weixian County with a long cultivation history. It was presented as a tribute as early as the Ming Dynasty, and its quality has remained unchanged to this day. It features white rind, white flesh and white seeds.
The Sanbai watermelon has a remarkable curative effect on various types of hepatitis, even better than some medicines. It can also prevent and treat nosebleeds, blurred vision caused by summer heat, hypertension and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. In addition, the seeds of Sanbai melon are effective for diabetes.

Linxi Pickles

Linxi pickles are well-known local specialties in this region. At the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China, they were famous across Shandong and Hebei provinces, sold far to Beijing and Tianjin, and even exported to Japan.
There are more than twenty varieties of Linxi pickles with distinct flavors. Stuffed melons, pickled ground eggplants, stinky tofu and fermented bean curd are the most popular ones.

Xingtai Chestnuts

The production base of Xingtai chestnuts lies in the Taihang Mountains in western Xingtai. Endowed with superior natural resources, this area is known as "the greenest part of the Taihang Mountains" and is free from pollution. The slightly acidic granite-gneiss soil and temperate continental monsoon climate create the unique flavor of Xingtai chestnuts.
Xingtai chestnuts are plump, glossy, big in size with thin shells. Their flesh is soft, glutinous and sweet. Rich in high-quality carbohydrates, protein, vitamins and a variety of minerals, they boast high nutritional value.

Julu Wolfberries

Julu wolfberries are named "No.01 Blood Wolfberries" for their large size and abundant nutrients. Tests show that every 100 grams of this wolfberry contains 4.49 grams of crude protein, 2.33 grams of crude fat, 90.12 grams of carbohydrates, 96 milligrams of carotenoids, 0.053 milligrams of thiamine, 0.137 milligrams of riboflavin, 19.08 milligrams of ascorbic acid and 0.26 milligrams of betaine. It also contains 22 kinds of amino acids, trace elements such as potassium, sodium, calcium and magnesium, as well as multiple vitamins.
