What scenic spots are there in Xingtai? What fun places can I visit?

Tianhe Mountain, also known as China’s Mountain of Love, is located in Xingtai. It is the hometown of Qixi culture and the birthplace of the legend of the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl. It sits in the greenest stretch of the Taihang Mountains on the border between Shanxi and Hebei in western Xingtai, with convenient transportation and beautiful roadside scenery. The area boasts jagged peaks, steep secluded valleys and dense forests. Waterfalls pour down like flying snow while clear springs gurgle melodiously, forming a typical Taihang landscape. With pine forests rustling and flocks of cattle and sheep wandering about, it is also called the Grassland on the Cloud Top. It is a shining pearl along the thousand-li Taihang Mountains. The drifting route on Tianhe Mountain features steep drops and rapid currents, full of thrills, and is hailed as the No.1 Drift for Couples in China.

Kongshan Baiyun Cave is a national key scenic area, national geopark and national AAAA-level tourist attraction. It is situated in Lincheng County, Xingtai City, 56 kilometers south of downtown Xingtai and 86 kilometers north of Shijiazhuang. The whole scenic zone includes five parts: Baiyun Cave, Qishan Lake, Tianhe Mountain, Small Heavenly Lake and historical relics. It is an integrated tourist resort featuring mountains, rivers, caves, forests and cultural sites. Formed in the Middle Cambrian Period 500 million years ago, it is a rare karst cave in northern China.

Nine-Dragon Gorge Natural Scenic Area lies in Jiangshui Town, Xingtai County, on the eastern foot of the middle Taihang Mountains. It is praised as the Top Scenery of Yan-Zhao and a bright pearl of Taihang natural scenery. More than 60 gorges took shape during the ancient glacial age. Each gorge ranges from 1 to 4 kilometers long, less than 20 meters at the widest and only about 1.5 meters at the narrowest. Landforms such as natural skylights, stone urns and long cliff table mountains have been formed, creating an exclusive red sandstone gorge cluster unmatched in North China. The scenic area hosts the largest wild peach blossom forest in China, the most concentrated red sandstone gorges in North China, and the densest group of waterfalls with the biggest vertical drop across northern China. This was the ancient Xiang Kingdom and the birthplace of the Zhao State, home to hundreds of scenic sites. On the mountain ridge, you can walk across the border of two provinces and enjoy the gorgeous scenery of Shanxi and Hebei. Tourists can set up camps, pitch tents, hold bonfires and barbecues, watch sunrise in the morning and listen to monkeys howling at night. Xingtai Canyon Group is a national AAAA-level scenic spot, a key provincial scenic area and a Hebei provincial geopark. It is 70 kilometers west of downtown Xingtai and consists of 24 canyons, among which 8 stretch over 1,000 meters long. It is a fantastic wonder among the Taihang peaks. Highlights include Ghost Gate Natural Barrier, Rainbow above the Valley, Water Sprays from Cloud Cliffs, Jade-like Waterfalls, Heavenly Lake Terrace, Dragon Palace Pearl, Ji Gong Overlooking the Sea and Green Hills. The tourist zone mainly features quartz sandstone canyons, complemented by steep cliffs, waterfalls and folk customs. Its unique quartz sandstone gorge group and typical Zhangshiyan sandstone landform make it one of a kind among mountain resorts across the Taihang region and the whole country. It combines the grandeur of northern mountains with the elegance of southern rivers and hills. The gorge has three unique features: deep and narrow valleys, sheer cliff banks, and interconnected canyon clusters. There are continuous clear pools and waterfalls stretching for miles, together with tens of thousands of mu of primeval secondary forests.

Yunmeng Mountain Scenic Area is located north of Shibanfang Village, Yijiacun Township, Xingtai County, Hebei Province. It belongs to northern mountain scenery, with its main peak over 1,300 meters high, standing on the watershed between Hebei and Shanxi. The landform is distinctive, divided vertically into four layers: Lower Pot Heaven, Middle Pot Heaven, Upper Pot Heaven and Outer Heaven. When you enter the scenic area, you will feel trapped inside a huge teapot, surrounded by steep red cliffs with only a circular patch of sky overhead, hence the name "Fairyland of Pot Heaven". Yunmeng Mountain boasts majestic peaks, clear waters, quiet valleys and magical caves. The scenery is picturesque all year round. More than 80 spots have been developed with a well-paced sightseeing route full of mild excitement.
