Ticket: 20 RMB per person Wen'an Ancient City Wall With a history of 1,500 years, Wen'an Ancient City Wall is one of the best-preserved ancient city walls in northern China and listed as a county-level cultural relic protection site. The existing city is rectangular (longer from east to west and narrower from north to south). The total perimeter is 1,275.5 zhang (approximately 3.6 kilometers), and the wall stands 2.5 zhang (about 8 meters) high. The wall is thicker than its height, extremely solid. Built entirely for defensive purposes, the wall is wide enough for carriages and troop drills. Constructed with a mixture of lime, tung oil and rice soup as binder, it has remained sturdy and intact after standing for over a thousand years.
