Bashang Grassland Tourism Festival of Zhangjiakou, China
It is a key summer tourism festival in Zhangjiakou. Hosted alternately in Zhangbei County and Guyuan County in early July every year, the grassland festival lasts three months with the theme of "Embrace Green Land, Meet on the Grassland".
Chongli Ski Tourism Month, Zhangjiakou
This event takes place in Chongli, Zhangjiakou every January and February.
Chongli County boasts 720,000 mu of secondary virgin forests, making it one of the counties with the largest contiguous natural forests in Hebei Province. In summer, rolling mountains are draped in lush green; in autumn, the woods are dyed in gorgeous hues; in winter, everything is wrapped in silvery snow, presenting a stunning view. Experts from the General Administration of Sport of China have recognized it as the top location in North China for developing eco-friendly ski tourism thanks to its superior natural conditions.
Wanquan Folk Shehuo Parade
Every Spring Festival and Lantern Festival, Wanquan County, Hebei Province holds a grand folk art performance known as Wanquan Shehuo. The performances include formation marches, stake fixing routines, figure-eight runs, Nine Dragons Churning Water, Fish Dance, drum beating, martial arts boxing and more. Shows are staged on streets with crowds of onlookers, creating a lively festive atmosphere. Visitors can not only enjoy brilliant performances, but also experience simple and authentic ancient folk customs.
