Lower Wenming Pagoda is located in Tongba Village, Yatangpu Township, west of the county seat, right in the middle of the Mishui River, seven kilometers from town.
No written records survive of its construction date. Research confirms it was erected slightly later than the Upper and Middle Pagodas, with a history of roughly more than 200 years to date.
Built entirely of red stone, this octagonal seven-story pagoda reaches a height of 22.35 meters and covers about 64 square meters. Its foundation is shaped like a bridge pier, pointed at the front and broad at the rear to withstand the impact of river currents. Though standing amid the river, the pagoda remains towering and unshaken.
