Wenge Temple stands atop Longdongpo Hill in the southern suburbs of Zhaxi, Weixin County, Zhaotong, 2 kilometres from the city centre. Also known as Wenchang Temple, it was first built in the 12th year of the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty (1886). On the eastern side of the pavilion lies an epitaph for Taoist Master Haiguang, composed by Xiao Shengguang, a local scholar of Weixin.
