Commonly known as Gaoxian Pagoda, Shousheng Temple Pagoda stands at Gaoxian Market Town, 23 kilometers northwest of the county seat. It is a structure dating back to the Ming Dynasty.
This seven-storey multi-storey brick pagoda stands 28.3 meters tall with a solid core and grey mortar joints, featuring a hexagonal plan topped with a pearl-shaped pagoda finial. Each side of the first storey measures 3.8 meters in width. Every level except the seventh one has a genuine doorway on its southern facade, and brick-carved dougong bracket sets are installed beneath the eaves of each floor.
The pagoda body is decorated with a total of 211 stone Buddha statues and 14 stone stele inscriptions, which carry significant research value for the painting and carving arts of the Ming Dynasty. In 1986, the People’s Government of Henan Province designated it a Provincial Key Cultural Relic Protection Unit.
