The Yongkang Tin Carving Craft Museum

The Yongkang Tin Carving Craft Museum was built by Sheng Yiyuan, Chairman of Zhejiang Rongshengda Tin Products Co., Ltd., with an initial investment of over 18 million yuan. Located on the 25th floor of Jinshan Building at Yongkang Headquarters Center, the exhibition hall covers an area of 1,509 square metres. Completed in 2011, it has been open to the public free of charge for cultural exchange ever since.

Guided by the national philosophy of "protecting, inheriting and developing Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH)", the exhibition hall is divided into three themed galleries: Ancient Tin Wares, Traditional Pure Handcrafted Tin Wares, and Modern Tin Wares.

The Ancient Tin Wares Gallery houses more than a thousand antique tin objects collected by Sheng Yiyuan over decades, including candlesticks, teapots, wine pots and tin jars dating from the Song Dynasty to the Republic of China.
The Traditional Pure Handcrafted Tin Wares Gallery displays tin works with distinct Yongkang characteristics handcrafted by Sheng Yiyuan together with veteran tin artisans, such as candlesticks, vases, wine sets, tea sets and sacrificial altars.
The Modern Tin Wares Gallery showcases practical craftworks and collectibles designed and developed by Rongshengda Company. Integrating modern manufacturing techniques with traditional craftsmanship under the tenet of "lighting up traditions with fashion and safeguarding intangible heritage through development", these tin tea caddies, tea sets, wine vessels and vases combine practicality, elegance and ornamental value.

The museum also features a Yongkang tin carving workshop, equipped with multimedia display facilities. It fully embodies the authenticity, integrity and living heritage nature of Yongkang tin carving. Visitors can experience the whole process of local pewter forging, bringing Yongkang tin carving closer to real life and the general public.
