Shicangyan Scenic Area

Shicangyan Scenic Area is located in Changtangtou Village, at the boundary of Tangxian Town and Gushan Town, Yongkang City. The low mountain here resembles a grain barn and is dotted with clusters of exotic rocks, hence the name Shicangyan (Stone Granary Rock), standing at an altitude of 320 metres.

The mountain features grotesque rock formations, mysterious caves, precipitous cliffs, dense forests and tall elegant bamboo. Gurgling mountain springs echo all around, creating a tranquil and soothing atmosphere. Stepping into this place, visitors feel as if they have wandered into a blessed immortal abode.

A natural giant stone statue resembling an elder immortal rests on the mountain, known locally as Immortal Elder Rock. Sculpted by nature’s uncanny craftsmanship, it is a one-of-a-kind wonder across China, astonishing every spectator. Halfway up the mountain, green pines and lush bamboo form a thick leafy canopy, beside which murmuring brooks run adjacent to natural grottoes. After visiting the site, Shi Zhigang, jury member of the International Fine Arts Society, inscribed four characters Mysterious Valley, Immortal Metropolis, a perfect depiction of the landscape.

The scenic area is equipped with recreational facilities including rock climbing, horse riding and water surfing.
