Panlong Valley Ecotourism Zone
Panlong Valley Ecotourism Zone lies 15 kilometres away from downtown Yongkang, covering a total area of 1,500 mu with a core zone of 500 mu. Two man-made lakes are situated within the zone, with storage capacities of 2.9 million cubic metres and 400,000 cubic metres respectively.
Wrapped in rolling mountains and winding waters, the park boasts a thousand-mu fruit and forest base adopting high-yield cultivation techniques. Its major fruits include selenium-rich pears, red bayberries, kiwifruits, yellow persimmons and jujubes. Rare tree varieties, bamboo species, precious flowers and medicinal herbs have also been introduced here. A collection of gardens with popular science education functions has been constructed, namely the Colorful Foliage Garden, Hundred Bamboo Garden, Hundred Medicinal Herb Garden, Heze Peony Garden and Longjing Tea Garden. This forms an ecotourism zone where flowers, bamboo, tea plants and medicinal grasses all compose picturesque views.
Twelve scenic spots have been developed in the park, including Morning Mist over Dragon Lake, Waiting for the Moon by Pine Stream, Stone Steps in Lotus Rain, Clear Spring from Ancient Well and Frost Blossoms on the Ancient Path. The zone features four distinctive eco-cultural tourism offerings: agricultural sightseeing experiences, forest leisure tours, farm-style green cuisine, and artistic creation & exchange activities. Fully equipped with complete tourist facilities, it was awarded the title of national AAA-level tourist attraction at the end of 2015, making it a top leisure destination in Yongkang and even the wider Jinhua area.
