One-Day Tour: A Journey of Beauty at Xishi’s Hometown
Route A: One-Day Cool Escape to Wuxie Mountains and Waters
Depart Shanghai in the morning via the Shanghai-Hangzhou and Hangzhou-Jinhua-Quzhou Expressways and head for Wuxie Scenic Area in Zhuji (4.5 hours’ drive).
Enjoy lunch for about 40 minutes featuring distinctive farmhouse delicacies of Zhuji.
After lunch, tour Wuxie, a national scenic spot, national forest park and national AAAA-level tourist attraction for roughly 3.5 hours. Activities include cruising the rippling Wuxie Lake on a painted pleasure boat; riding an electric shuttle or strolling through the fruit-laden Taoyuan Scenic Zone; paying homage to Wuxie Temple, an ancient Caodong Sect monastery; hiking to admire China’s exclusive five-tier cascading waterfalls — the elegant and ingenious First Waterfall, curtain-like Second Waterfall, gracefully varied Third Waterfall, galloping steed-like Fourth Waterfall, and flood-dragon surging out of the sea-like Fifth Waterfall. Visitors may also splash in the water, join water fights, catch crabs and small fish.
Set off on the return trip at around 16:30.
Route B: One-Day Beauty-Seeking Tour to Xishi’s Hometown
Depart Shanghai in the morning via the Shanghai-Hangzhou and Hangzhou-Jinhua-Quzhou Expressways and drive to Diantangfan, one of China’s Top Ten Leisure Farms, for a cool summer retreat (4 hours’ drive).
Spend around 1.5 hours enjoying leisure activities: escape the hustle and bustle of the city, unwind amid farmland and woods, return to a simple natural lifestyle and savour laid-back rural charm. You can experience mulberry fruit picking and angling, as well as taste genuine fresh farmhouse cuisine.
After lunch, drive for 15 minutes to Xishi’s Hometown, a national AAAA-level scenic area built with an investment of 1.5 billion RMB. It showcases vivid, lifelike statues of the Four Great Beauties headed by Xishi, plus outstanding distinguished women from all dynasties of China. The 3–3.5-hour sightseeing covers Xishi Palace, the shrine of Fan Li (God of Literary Wealth, where guests pray for academic success), ancient Yue-style folk performances at the Zheng Clan Ancestral Hall, and the Folk Custom Museum exploring the origins of traditional beauty culture.
Return at approximately 16:30.
Route C: One-Day Leisure Getaway to Douyan and Tangjiangyan
Leave Shanghai early morning via the Shanghai-Hangzhou and Hangzhou-Jinhua-Quzhou Expressways en route to Douyan Scenic Area in Zhuji (4 hours’ drive).
Have lunch for about 40 minutes.
Post-lunch, tour Douyan, a sacred Buddhist resort for 1.5 hours, featuring an 81.6-metre giant Buddha, vivid magical Thousand-Buddha Mountain, rock climbing, giant drum beating and the Dragon King Hall.
Drive 20 minutes to Tangjiangyan, the largest fully-equipped outdoor outward bound training base in East China. Experience thrilling outward bound challenges and large-scale aquatic entertainment for roughly 2.5 hours.
Head back at around 16:30.
Route D: One-Day Leisure Trip with Loquat Picking & Tangjiangyan Visit
Set off from Shanghai in the morning via the Shanghai-Hangzhou and Hangzhou-Jinhua-Quzhou Expressways to Jinzhu Villa in Tongshan Town, Zhuji (4 hours’ drive).
Spend 1.5 hours on rural recreation: get away from urban noise, relax among mountain forests, embrace an uncomplicated rustic life and enjoy peaceful countryside leisure. You can experience loquat picking and sample fresh farmhouse dishes.
After lunch, drive 15 minutes to Tangjiangyan, East China’s largest outdoor outward bound training base with complete facilities. Take part in exciting outward bound programmes and large water amusement activities for about 2.5 hours.
Depart for the return journey at around 16:00
