Xinshan Lisu Ethnic Tourism Village, Miyi County

Located in Xinshan Lisu Ethnic Township, the village sits halfway up Longzhou Mountain of the Hengduan Mountains. It is 12 kilometers away from downtown Miyi, covering an area of 78.8 square kilometers, with an altitude ranging from 1,100 meters to 3,300 meters.

The Lisu people mainly live in Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture of Yunnan Province. The Xinshan Lisu community in Miyi County is the largest Lisu group that migrated into Sichuan, consisting of 430 households with a total population of 1,861.

From the 12th to the 18th day of the third lunar month each year, the Xinshan Lisu people celebrate the Yuede Festival. The word "Yuede" means dating, so the festival is also known as the Dating Festival. In the warm spring month of the third lunar month, young men and women gather in splendid traditional costumes, singing and dancing heartily to exchange affection. Many young lovers meet their soulmates at this festival, tie the knot and live together until old age.

Xinshan Lisu Ethnic Township boasts beautiful natural ecological scenery. Its major scenic spots include: thousands of acres of terraced fields, ten thousand mu of azalea bushes, vast pine forests with rolling pines, hundred-zhang deep valleys, a ten-li natural gallery, sunrise over Longzhou Mountain, golden glow covering river valleys, and red sun above snow-capped peaks.
