Bajiaoqing Loquat Water Town (National AA-level Scenic Area)

Wrapped in green mountains and fruity aromas, Bajiaoqing boasts ten thousand mu of early-spring loquat orchards and a thousand mu of late-ripening mango groves. The Olive River winds through the village, murmuring along its course as white cranes dance overhead. The new village unfolds like a picturesque scroll: Villas stand amid y magnolias behind bamboo fences; Small bridges arch over flowing streams leading to village homes.

Scenic walkways wind through the loquat groves, where visitors may admire blossoms, taste fresh fruit or take leisurely strolls. Around a bend lies a lotus pond. At the height of summer, white lotus flowers contrast beautifully against emerald green lotus leaves.

Climb a hundred stone steps to reach the reservoir embankment. The reservoir shimmers like a silver mirror set between heaven and earth. Visitors can enjoy angling, lakeside cycling around the island, camping and other relaxing pastimes here.

Thanks to its distinctive south subtropical vertical climate, abundant sunlight and heat, plus seven medium and small reservoirs strung like pearls across the land, Bajiaoqing’s early-spring loquats hit a sugar content of 15%. Boasting well-balanced sweetness, juicy flesh and easily peeled skin, the fruit has built a strong brand reputation. When the ten-thousand-mu loquat orchards ripen, the annual output reaches 200,000 kilograms. Each fruit is as big as an egg, piled in golden heaps, and sells well in Chengdu, Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou and other major cities.

Bajiaoqing has created a full range of creative loquat delicacies, including loquat rice, loquat salad, loquat coffee and loquat fruit tea. It also hosts wellness programs featuring loquat medicinal diets, loquat skincare therapies and loquat health treatments. The Loquat Water Town invites visitors to indulge in a tempting loquat-themed getaway.

Last year, a mango weighing 4.15 kilograms was harvested here, hailed as the nation’s heaviest "King Mango".
