Hualong Valley is located in Changshan Town, formed by crustal subsidence. The canyon stretches 8 kilometers long and ranges from 100 to 400 meters in width. Its steep cliffs rise dozens of zhang high, dotted with jagged strange rocks and thick lush forests. Nestled between mountains and streams, the valley maintains a spring-like climate all year round, filled with birdsong and blooming flowers.
Twisted trees, ferns, flowers and mosses blanket the land all year round. The canyon is dominated by phyllostachys pubescens, covering an area of 464 mu, with more than 100 cyatheaceae trees scattered throughout the valley. Hualong Valley is tied to many beautiful legends, and it still features scenic spots such as Yellow Dragon Cave, Turtle Rock and Water Curtain Cave.
Shuanglong Reservoir sits at the bottom of the valley with a storage capacity of 1 million cubic meters. If the outer river dike is heightened and extended, the capacity can be expanded to 5.5 million cubic meters, with a catchment area of 11.4 square kilometers.
