Wei River Customs Wetland Park
Wei River Customs Wetland Park is now a National 3A-level Tourist Attraction, National Urban Wetland Park and National Water Conservancy Scenic Area. It lies in the eastern urban area of Changyi City, bordering the Green Expo Garden to the southeast and Wenshan Scenic Area to the northwest. Covering a total area of 546.6 hectares, it consists of distinctive functional zones including the Seedling Sightseeing Zone, Wetland Reserve, Central Activity Zone, Water Activity Zone, Camping & Barbecue Zone and Forest Bathing Area.
Designed under the philosophy of "preserving ecological features and restoring natural landscapes", the park gives full play to its wetland resource advantages. By regulating water systems and creating green landscapes, providing accessible waterfront spaces and integrating water scenery with vegetation, it strives to foster an eco-environment featuring clear skies, lush land and clean water.
The park is planned and constructed with core functional zones: the Seedling Sightseeing Zone, Wetland Reserve, Central Activity Zone and Water Activity Zone. Supporting facilities include vehicle lanes, pedestrian walkways, waterfront viewing platforms, trestle bridges, public squares, bird-watching pavilions and wooden bridges.
Thanks to remarkable improvements to the Wei River’s ecological environment, more than 3,000 rare migratory birds of over 60 species — such as little egrets, grey herons, pond herons and grey cranes — breed and inhabit the park every year, with over 400 bird nests discovered within the wetland.
