Tamarisk is a hardy plant capable of surviving harsh environments such as deserts, river beaches and saline-alkali land. It ranks among the superior tree species that best adapt to arid deserts and coastal saline soil, serving to block wind, fix sand, ameliorate saline-alkali soil and green the environment.

Every spring, the tamarisks in the reserve grow lush and verdant, interspersed with carpet-like lawns and blooming flowers, presenting a stunningly beautiful scene. Tamarisks sprout new inflorescences each May, and for months until September, the whole reserve is covered in a sea of blossoms. As old flowers fade, new blooms emerge in three successive flowering waves without interruption. Compared with other coastal landscapes, it boasts a uniquely distinctive and charming scenery all its own.
