Xilai Temple

Location: Xilai Village, Xilai Town, Jingjiang City

Period: Late Qing Dynasty

Brief Introduction Xilai Temple is situated in Xilai Village, Xilai Town, Jingjiang City, covering a land area of approximately 20 mu. The temple complex consists of the Heavenly King Hall, Mahavira Hall, Ksitigarbha Hall, vegetarian dining hall and other buildings.

Originally constructed in the Qing Dynasty, Xilai Temple was destroyed by warfare during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. Most of the construction materials used for the current temple were salvaged from the remnants of the war-damaged ancient temple.
