Wulanhua Ecological Park

Wulanhua Ecological Park, also known as East Hill Ecological Park, sits on the eastern ridge of Wulanhua Town. It covers a total area of 315,000 square meters with a total investment of 6.7 million RMB. The planning scope encompasses Wulanhua Reservoir and the Monument of the Martyrs Cemetery. Construction kicked off in 2004, during which one antique-style concrete archway, one pavilion, over 70 meters of stone stair paths and one pond were finished within the same year.

Starting from April 2003, a total of 1,250 square meters of lawn was laid within the park. 5,792 trees of nine varieties were planted, including 1,105 junipers, 1,015 spruces, 55 Chinese junipers, 55 purple-leaf barberries, 100 willows and 4 Chinese pagoda trees. There were also 4,358 flowering shrubs such as roses, flowering plums and lilacs.

To ensure a high survival rate of the saplings, two 80-square-meter water storage tanks were built, water-lifting equipment was installed, and 400 meters of water delivery pipelines were buried underground.

The construction of East Hill Ecological Park has not only improved the local ecological environment, but also offered urban residents a public space for leisure and physical exercise.
