Drunken Dream over Taiji Lake
In late autumn, a chill hangs in the air. The tranquil Taiji Lake remains calm and boundless. The lofty mountain ridges stand guard over this mother river that nurtures the origin of Jincheng.
As the sun dips westward, slanting golden rays spill across the winding surface of Taiji Lake at the foot of Jue Mountain. The meandering Dan River shimmers endlessly, brimming with tender charm.
Among all four seasons, autumn is my favourite time to visit the lake. No matter where I stand or which angle I choose to gaze, it always greets me with gentle grace and an incomparable scenic view.
Perhaps it is the gurgling current of the Dan River that blurs my eyes with fascination. Perhaps it is the rolling Jue Mountain range that deepens my longing for this place.
Soft breezes sweep across the water, making ripples flicker like blinking eyes. Tourists drift away little by little. The old trees standing in the lake, the arched bridge, colourful boats and rows of willows along the shore compose a stunning sunset painting of Taiji Lake.
Taiji Lake, your beauty is beyond words. I can only rely on inspiration from my heart to preserve your time-worn stories and these eternal moments.
