Yanghou Reservoir

Dear friends, welcome to Yanghou Reservoir. Constructed by the Jian'ou Municipal Government with an investment of over 30 million RMB starting in 1984, this medium-sized Type II reservoir was completed and filled with water in 1986, boasting a total storage capacity of 47.46 million cubic meters. Built in the basin of Yanghou Village, it mainly serves water storage and regulation for Yushan Hydropower Station to guarantee industrial power supply across the whole county.

Yanghou Reservoir boasts stunning natural scenery with a magnificent dam and shimmering blue ripples spreading across the water surface. A ring road encircles the reservoir, connecting villages scattered on the surrounding hills. Endless stretches of peach trees, plum trees, green bamboo and palm trees line the lakeshore, setting off one another beautifully. In spring, blooming peach and plum blossoms create an incomparably gorgeous view. In summer, the reservoir becomes an ideal spot for swimming and angling, with its widest stretch reaching two kilometers. As an old saying goes, those who live near water know its temperament, and many skilled swimmers are capable of crossing the entire reservoir here. Autumn brings crisp, refreshing weather with pleasant temperatures. In winter, the reservoir serves as a winter habitat for wild ducks, which gather here from all directions to form a spectacular scene. At dawn, mist shrouds the reservoir, and the refreshing fragrance of grass, bamboo and wild flowers fills the air. Regular strolls here are said to promote longevity. At night, thousands of lights twinkle around the reservoir, and the reflections of nearby villages shimmer on the water, resembling a bustling cityscape or a magical mirage.

The reservoir teems with dozens of fish species. Its freshwater shrimps are a top-tier delicacy, perfect for wine pairings on the dining table.

Upstream of the reservoir lies Immortal Mountain Canyon, a winding stretch of more than ten kilometers. The canyon features precipitous terrain, sheer cliffs and cascading waterfalls, alongside rare exotic flowers, herbs and towering ancient trees with abundant unique wildlife.
