Tomb of Xi Jian

Xi Jian (268–338), courtesy name Daohui, art name Yuqing, was the Grand Commandant of the Jin Dynasty and a native of Gaoping Jinxiang.
The stone que towers at the tomb site have long been destroyed, while three large earthen mounds still remain.
The western tomb has a base diameter of 26 metres and a height of 3 metres.
The middle tomb measures 30 metres across the base and stands 4 metres high.
The eastern tomb has a base diameter of 26 metres and a height of 5 metres.
There once stood a stele before the tomb, entitled Stele for Grand Minister Xi Jian. It was composed by Sun Chuo, the celebrated literary leader of the Eastern Jin Dynasty. The full text was recorded in the Arts and Literature Section of Jinxiang County Chronicles, yet the original stele is now lost.
According to county records:
"The tomb of Xi Jian, Grand Commandant of the Jin Dynasty, lies seven li south of the county seat. Nearby is the ancient Xi City. Beside the city stands the tomb, with two stone platforms in front of it roughly one zhang apart. Each platform rises about two zhang, fully carved with floral patterns. The exquisite bracket sets and overlapping tile roof make them look just like lamp stands, hence the name Lamp Terrace Hill."
