Tomb of Guo Dongfan

The tomb is situated in the northwest of Guoshankou Village, Huji Town, north of Jinxiang County seat.

Guo Dongfan passed the imperial examination and became a jinshi in the thirty-sixth year of the Jiajing reign of the Ming Dynasty. He eventually held the post of Vice Judicial Commissioner of Shaanxi Provincial Judicial Commission. After his death, he was buried in his hometown Guoshankou Village. His tombstone remains well-preserved. Stone statues of horses, sheep and tigers stand before the tomb grove.

Guo Dongfan’s main tomb occupies the central position, with the grove gate facing south. A stone offering table and an incense stand are placed in front of the grave. The tombstone stands on the front left. Stone figures including horses and sheep line both sides of the spirit path; most of these stone sculptures were damaged during the Cultural Revolution.

Several tombstones dating back to the Ming and Qing dynasties are distributed on both sides and in the front of the main tomb. Most of them are still equipped with complete stone offering tables and incense altars.
