Old Dragon Cave

Old Dragon Cave sits at the foot of Longzhong Mountain, surrounded by lush pines and cypresses where mountains and streams mirror each other amid dense forests and tall bamboo groves. You may feel that ancient Longzhong is just like an enormous natural oxygen bar, refreshing your mind and lifting your spirits.

There are many legends about Old Dragon Cave. Folktales say the cave stretches extremely deep—some claim it leads all the way to Nanzhang, while others believe it connects to Sichuan. The spring water here tastes sweet and pure. Local lore holds that drinking the water can sharpen one’s wits, and it is said that Zhuge Liang’s extraordinary wisdom came from drinking this very water. Therefore, visitors are welcome to step into the tea house and sample Longzhong’s fragrant tea, which carries a mellow, delicate sweetness that soothes the heart and refreshes the soul.

Behind Old Dragon Cave lies Longzhong’s Peony Garden. An ancient custom passed down for thousands of years goes: "On the third day of the third lunar month, head to Longzhong to admire peonies." Every spring, the peonies burst into full bloom, presenting a spectacular sight.
