Local Transport

Buses

Only three bus routes (No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3) run across urban Fangchenggang. The fare is 1 yuan for both air-conditioned and ordinary buses. The ticket price between Gangkou District and Fangcheng District is 2.5 yuan. Minibuses bound for Shangsi and Dongxing are available at downtown areas including the railway station, long-distance bus station and Xinggang Avenue, with fares of about 6 yuan.

Taxis

Most taxis in Fangchenggang are Geely cars. The flag-down fare is 3 yuan, plus 1.6 yuan per kilometre after the first two kilometres.

Motorcycle Taxis

Motorcycle taxis are everywhere and can be hailed anytime. Trips within the urban area usually cost 2 to 5 yuan. However, they are not very safe. Taxis are recommended for safety, comfort and reasonable prices.

Car Charter

Self-drive car rental without a driver is generally not available here. Tourists can charter a taxi. A full-day charter of a Geely taxi to visit the downtown area, Wanwei Golden Beach, Jiangshan Peninsula and other scenic spots costs around 300 yuan, excluding bridge tolls and other extra fees. You can bargain for a better price if you rent for multiple days.

Scenic Introduction

West Bay Square is located in downtown Fangchenggang. It gets its name because it borders West Bay and connects with the Qinzhou-Fangchenggang Expressway.

As an urban park covering an area of 16.72 hectares, it is one of the largest municipal squares in Guangxi.

Construction started in 2002 and was completed in 2003.

The square is shaded by lush trees with a serene environment. A modern musical fountain stands in the centre.

When night falls, the fountain dances to the rhythm of music amid brilliant lights, presenting a gorgeous view.

Now the square serves as an important venue for celebrations and public gatherings, as well as a leisure and entertainment spot for local residents. It is open to tourists free of charge.
