Scenic Spot Introduction
Tengzhou Museum, formerly known as Teng County Museum, is located at the northern end of Shanguo Road. It is a large complex built in an ancient Chinese architectural style with a total construction area of 5,700 square meters, including a six-story exhibition hall covering around 2,400 square meters and housing nine display galleries in total. The galleries consist of the Preface Hall, Shang and Zhou Culture Hall, Ancient Coins and Bronze Mirrors Hall, Ceramics, Calligraphy and Painting Hall, and more.
The museum preserves over 10,000 cultural relics. Its collections include pottery wares such as bowls, jars, basins and kettles; stone implements including shovels, knives, sickles and millstones; as well as bone, horn and ivory artifacts like arrowheads, darts, hoes, chisels and needles, which fully embody the distinctive features of the Beixin Culture.
Bronze wares account for one third of all relics in the collection. A great number of rare bronze artifacts bearing characteristics of the ancient State of Teng have been designated Grade One National Cultural Relics, including the Marquis of Teng Ding Tripod, Duke of Teng Gui Food Vessel, Duke of Teng Li Cauldron, Marquis of Teng Dou Vessel, Marquis Yu of Teng Dagger-Axe, and Marquis Huang of Teng Bronze Chime Bells.
