Chen Ping Shrine is situated in Middle Yang'a Village, Yang'a Township, nine kilometers northeast of downtown Yuanyang County. Chen Ping was a distinguished statesman and strategist of the Western Han Dynasty. He rendered immortal meritorious service assisting Emperor Gaozu Liu Bang in founding and consolidating the Western Han Dynasty, and was honored and praised as a loyal minister throughout successive dynasties.

Chen Ping, courtesy name Ruzi, was a native of Huyou Township, Yangwu of Henan (present-day Yang'a Village, Yang'a Township). His shrine has been fully preserved to this day. Historical records show that the shrine was first built in the third year of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, renovated in the 23rd year of the Hongwu reign of the Ming Dynasty, and partially restored again in the 22nd year of the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty.

Remaining structures include a three-bay main hall and a three-bay covered corridor. Six stone steles are also preserved here, such as the stele inscribed "Hometown of Lord Chen, Marquis of Quni of the Han Dynasty" erected during the Tianshun reign of the Ming Dynasty, and the stele Vindication of Prime Minister Chen Against False Charges carved in the 26th year of the Jiajing reign of the Ming Dynasty.

Abundant records on the Vindication of Prime Minister Chen Against False Charges stele prove that the age-old rumor claiming Chen Ping "had an improper relationship with his elder brother’s wife while living at home" was merely a distorted hearsay, correcting erroneous records found in certain ancient books.
