Originally named Xianchun Bridge, it was first constructed in the 13th year of the Jiajing reign of the Ming Dynasty (1534) as a wooden bridge. It was rebuilt into a high stone arch bridge in the 3rd year of the Chongzhen reign of the Ming Dynasty (1630), renovated in the 9th year of the Tongzhi reign of the Qing Dynasty (1870), and reconstructed into a flat brick-stone bridge in 1925.
