Zhujiagang Martyrs Cemetery (National 2A-level Scenic Spot)

Located in Caomiao Township, Sihong County, Zhujiagang Martyrs Cemetery is a national 2A-level tourist attraction, a National Key Protected Unit of Martyr Memorial Buildings, a Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Unit and a Patriotism Education Base.

First built in 1943, the cemetery was constructed to commemorate and honor the 73 heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the Zhujiagang Defense Battle on December 10, 1942. Four large Chinese characters Noble Spirit Endures Forever, inscribed by Comrade Liu Huaqing, are carved on the Martyrs Memorial Tower. There are twenty-six steps leading up to the tower, representing the 26th Regiment, 9th Brigade, 4th Division of the New Fourth Army that fought in the Zhujiagang Battle.

The tower is shaped like two parallel rifles, standing 19.42 meters tall to mark the year 1942 when the Zhujiagang Battle took place. Sculptures depicting the fierce combat scenes of that year and figures yearning for peace are also carved on the tower body.
