Baimo Cave is situated in Poyue Village, 25 kilometers northwest of the county seat. It is the most magnificent limestone karst cave in Bama.

In 1987, a joint cave exploration team consisting of Chinese and British karst geology experts carried out a nine-day expedition inside the cave. They were astounded by the extremely rare geological formations rarely seen in karst caves worldwide: unique flat calcite deposits, traces of multi-layered three-dimensional caves, giant cave pearls, and continuous river through-cave relics. The experts unanimously concluded that this cave embodies all the finest features of caverns across the globe, worthy of the title "The No.1 Cave Under Heaven".

Baimo Cave has an average height of about 70 meters and a width of 50 meters. The main sightseeing route stretches over 4,000 meters; including branch passages such as upper caves and inner caves within the cave, the total touring distance reaches 10,000 meters. Together with the connected Gansui Cave and neighboring Liuyang Cave and Wuren Cave, it forms a vast cave cluster.

Baimo Cave features open skylights inside. Between the South Cave and North Cave lies a bucket-shaped tiankeng with vertical cliffs towering up to 100 meters. Local hardworking and kind Mountain Yao people live quietly beside the tiankeng, secluded from bustle. Inside the sinkhole sits a 4-mu herbal garden, known as a hidden paradise on earth.

The cave is divided into four grand, resplendent and diverse halls. The most spectacular hall stands over 100 meters high, several hundred meters wide and more than 1,000 meters long. Dozens of stalagmite pillars, 70 to 80 meters tall with diameters ranging from 3 to 5 meters, form an enormous cluster of towering stone pagodas, magnificent enough to take visitors’ breath away. The cave is dotted with oddly shaped rocks, and the cave walls bear naturally carved bizarre rock formations crafted by nature. Swirling mist drifts constantly through the cavern, lending the grand landscapes a mysterious, magical and colorful aura — hence the local name "Baimo Cave", meaning Cave of Hundred Demons.

The cave’s scenery shifts with the seasons. In hot summer, countless rock springs seep down from the cave ceiling, dripping with crisp sounds. Streams converge into pools of varying depths on the cave floor: visitors can wade in shallow waters or row boats in deeper sections. Spring water flowing out of the cave merges underground with the subterranean stream of the Panyang River that passes through Ren Township to the west. The two currents remain distinctly separated, clear and turbid side by side, rushing turbulently down toward the Poyue river reach.

In autumn and winter, the pools are crystal clear like polished mirrors with perfect reflections. In spring, flowers bloom profusely around the skylights both inside and outside the cave; birds chirp alongside gurgling springs, forming a stunning scene beyond compare.

The concentration of negative oxygen ions inside the cave ranges from 20,000 to 70,000 per cubic centimeter. The spring water at the cave entrance is weakly alkaline small-molecule cluster water. Negative oxygen ions, hailed as "air vitamins", deliver tremendous benefits to human health:

Moderate exposure to negative ions helps prevent and treat common chronic illnesses among the elderly. For this reason, an endless stream of tourists visits the cave every day to "breathe fresh ion-rich air".
