Scenic Area Introduction
Ming River of Bama lies in Nashe Township, home to one of the headwaters of the Panyang River, Bama’s mother river. Twisting and winding through the farmlands of Nashe Township, the river resembles a huge cursive Chinese character "Ming" (Life) embedded in the vast fields when viewed from above. Its elegant and extraordinary shape never fails to amaze visitors.
Ming River nurtures countless centenarians. More than eighty seniors aged 100 and above live along its banks, accounting for over two-thirds of all centenarians in Bama, the Hometown of Longevity. Elders in their eighties and nineties are as numerous as stars in the sky.
The magical and unique Ming River is regarded as a seal bestowed upon longevity land Bama by the God of Longevity, blessing generations of Bama residents with health and long lives. It is a heavenly symbol that reveals Bama’s longevity secret and the source of long life in this land.
Ming River is situated within Nashe Township, Bama Yao Autonomous County, 6 kilometers away from Crystal Palace Scenic Area known as the Art Palace of Nature. The winding waterway carved by nature’s miraculous craftsmanship takes the form of the cursive character "Ming". It presents a perfect harmonious realm of heaven, earth and humanity, a land abundant with long-lived elders and a paradise for wellness preservation.
Transportation
- Self-driving: Depart from Bama County toward Fengshan, follow road signs passing Pona and Jiazhuan Township to reach the site.
- Public transport: Take the bus bound for Jiangzhou at Bama Bus Station. There are only two daily departures at 08:00 and 13:30, with a fare of 15 RMB per person.
