Core Natural Landscapes
1. Daifuseng Scenic Area (Core Zone)
The park gets its name from the world’s largest natural snow mountain Buddha statue formed by mountain contours in Daifuseng. The peak naturally resembles a seated Maitreya Buddha, serving as the park’s iconic landmark. This zone features a rare subalpine ecological garden praised by botanists as a unique subalpine botanical garden in China, gathering over 800 kinds of alpine plants including snow spruce, tulips, fritillary and various medicinal herbs. The original Tianshan snow spruce forests here have an average age of 120 years, with a forest coverage rate hitting 76%. There is also a complete geological park recording multi-layer strata and typical geological evolution of the Junggar Basin, plus hot springs for leisure and wellness.
2. Bayingou Scenic Area
Bayingou is famous for rolling alpine meadows, wildflower carpets, primitive forest belts and valley streams. In summer, colorful wild blossoms blanket the grassland against snow peaks and dense spruce woods, creating spectacular layered mountain scenery ideal for hiking, camping and grassland sightseeingTrip.com.
3. Wulan Sadek Lake
A serene natural freshwater lake framed by forests and mountains. The clear lake water mirrors snow ridges and green woods, delivering quiet wild beauty popular for landscape photography and relaxed lakefront recreationTrip.com.
Wildlife & Ecological Value
The park protects abundant wild fauna: 52 terrestrial wild animal species, among which 23 are protected species. First-class national protected animals include snow leopards, argali and golden eagles; second-class protected species cover red deer, argali sheep, golden eagles and snow cocks. The air is rich in negative oxygen ions (up to 40,000 per cubic meter), with an average summer temperature of merely 20°C, making it a premium summer retreat to escape the heat and refresh the body and mind. Besides natural views, ancient stone statues, tombs and historical relics left from ancient military activities add profound humanistic charm to the mountain valleys.
