Songhua River Resort

Songhua River Resort is located in TaolaiZhao Town, Fuyu City, on the northern bank of the Second Songhua River. Adjacent to National Highway 102 and the Beijing-Harbin Railway, it enjoys outstanding geographical location and convenient transportation. The resort covers a total area of 1,010 hectares, including 900 hectares of natural forest and 30 hectares of wetland. Affiliated to Shentie Songyuan Sanjiang Port Industrial Group Co., Ltd., it is a key tourism development project of Songyuan Municipal Government and Shenyang Railway Bureau, rated as a national AAA-level scenic area.

Within the resort lies the century-old site of the Chinese Eastern Railway. The Chinese Eastern Railway Bridge, built in 1902, spans the Songhua River right across the park. Having weathered a hundred years of storms, it bears witness to a century of history and serves as an excellent patriotic education base. From the park, visitors can see the operational Songhua River Bridge on the Beijing-Harbin Main Line standing opposite the old railway bridge, recording the century-long development of China’s railway industry.

More than 20 rare tree species thrive in the natural forest of the resort. The woodland has been well preserved in its primitive state for decades. Lush pine and cypress trees form a natural oxygen bar inhabited by dozens of bird species. The scenic area features rolling sand dunes, crisscross gullies, interconnected ponds and branching river channels. Wild flowers bloom in full splendour, squirrels frolic around, frogs croak and hundreds of birds sing loudly. The famous Acorn Hill and the centuries-old divine elm tree attract numerous tourists. Every spring and summer, all life revives on Acorn Hill, where hundreds of wildflowers blossom and compete in beauty. The ancient elm tree impresses visitors with its peculiar, elegant and unique shape.

In midsummer, lotus flowers stretch endlessly at the foot of Acorn Hill, presenting a gorgeous view. Tourists can go boating on the Songhua River. The river abounds with wild fish, and fish ponds spread all over the area. Angling, swimming and boating bring endless joy. Visitors can enjoy authentic river fish stewed in iron pots in thatched farmhouses.

The resort is continuously improving its infrastructure, focusing on the construction of a comprehensive service zone, water amusement zone and leisure resort zone. The comprehensive service zone boasts more than 100 guest rooms and a 1,000-square-metre dining hall capable of receiving 500 diners at the same time. Recreational facilities include a 20,000-square-metre lotus pond, a 300-metre suspension footbridge near the river, 12 fish ponds covering nearly 120,000 square metres, and a 60,000-square-metre water-surrounded rare bird island. Boating facilities are available for tourists.

During the 13th Five-Year Plan period, Shentie Songyuan Sanjiang Port Industrial Group Co., Ltd. increased investment in infrastructure. The resort will be built into an all-in-one leisure destination featuring sightseeing, angling, gourmet dining and conference services, so as to better meet tourists’ demands for catering, accommodation, transportation, sightseeing, shopping and entertainment
