Xialongtou Longgang Site (Tonghua County)
This site sits on a terrace 500 meters north of Xialongtou Village, Kuaimamao Town, Tonghua County, Tonghua City, Jilin Province, at an altitude of 620 meters. It was designated as one of the Sixth Batch Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Units on May 31, 2007, and listed as one of the Seventh Batch Major Historical and Cultural Sites Protected at the National Level by the State Council on March 5, 2013. Dating back to the Warring States Period to the Han Dynasty, it faces Jiangyan Fifth Team of Jinchang Township across the Hunjiang River.
Rolling mountains lie to its northwest, the southward-flowing Hunjiang River runs along its eastern side, and open flatlands of Xialongtou Village stretch to the south, forming a superior geographical location. Natural sections reveal weathered bedrock underneath, with dark brown humus topsoil mixed with a large number of river pebbles. The terrain is flat, narrower in the south and wider in the north. The ground is covered with abundant river pebbles, and the area is now used as farmland.
The northeastern part borders the river, standing about 30 meters above the water surface. The site measures 320 meters from east to west and 600 meters from north to south, covering a total area of 187,500 square meters. Cultural relics are densely distributed in its southeastern corner. Surface artifacts unearthed mainly include waisted stone picks and stone net sinkers.

The east-west trending mountain here features gentle terrain and connects to mountain ranges on the west, with a coverage area of 42,254 square meters. The land has been restored to forest from farmland, leaving few surface relics today. It is roughly 200 meters west of the Tuzhuzi Site. As early as the late 1950s, Jilin Provincial Museum discovered a small number of stone implements and pottery shards here. In June 1985, cultural relics survey teams collected plenty of stone artifacts and pottery fragments from farmland at the southern end of Longgang, confirming it as an ancient settlement site.
Tuzhuzi Site (Tonghua County)
The site is situated 200 meters east of Longquan Village, Kuaimamao Town, Tonghua County, Tonghua City, Jilin Province, at **41°34'35.3"N, 125°50'23.7"**E with an altitude of 382 meters. It was listed as a provincial cultural relic protection unit on May 31, 2007, and promoted to a national key cultural relic protection unit on May 3, 2013, dating back to the Warring States Period to the Han Dynasty.
Perched on flat riverine land one kilometer from Longquan Village, it is a prominent earth and stone mound standing 8 meters high, with a flat platform of over 40 square meters on the top. The soil layer is more than 1 meter thick, and the mound occupies over 100 square meters. Surrounded by mountains on three sides and a river on the fourth, it enjoys beautiful natural scenery and is locally known as "Tuzhuzi" (Earth Bead).
In May 1982, Zhao Guozhu, a villager from the Third Production Team of Longquan Village, unearthed a polished stone spear made of black stone while ploughing on the mound. In November the same year, archaeologists at provincial, municipal and county levels conducted a field survey here. The sunlit slope has been reclaimed for farming and the hilltop was excavated. A 1-meter-deep soil section shows the top layer is cultivated land with 0.1-meter-thick black humus soil. Below lies mixed yellowish-brown weathered sandstone and river pebbles. Weathered sandstone, yellow granite and cyan granite can be seen on the surrounding rock walls.
